Once upon a time there was once a princess called Cinderella at the Dolman Theatre and what a happy ending it was!

This show, by New Ventures Players, was nothing short of enchanting and was the perfect way to tell the famous fairy tale.

It contained all the elements a magical story should have; a damsel in distress, a handsome prince and a happy ever after.

This, however, was not made easy by the Stepmother, Deb Postle, and her two wicked step sisters Grace, Rebecca Evans, and Joy, Mia Goddard.  The Stepmother played a severe, hard-hearted character which was only emphasised by her dim-witted daughters.

It was Prince Christopher, Ross McDonnel, persistent attitude to find his lost ‘princess’ that the real love story was able to unfold. He played an honest and loyal prince who was a brilliant match for Cinderella.

The poor ill-treated Cinderella, played by Megan Postle, was made for her role. Her singing was fantastic where you watched eagerly as she transformed from her stepmothers slave into a dazzling princess.

Creating the magic, the Fairy Godmother, Georgia Tasker, helps watch over Cinderella and plays a vibrant and spirited character.

Music, sets and costumes were all impressive where the ballroom scene was a particular crowd pleaser.

The show continues until Sunday.
