DANCING in the Streets showed Motown music at its very best. This concert transported the theatre back to Detroit in the 1960s where the singing was spot on.
Complete with all the classic bands and singers such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, the show had a packed audience who were delighted with the talent on offer.
The dancing of the whole the cast was non-stop where I often wondered how they still had the energy to carry on!
The outfits only added to the performance and the resemblance of the singing to the original acts was brilliant.
Throughout the night, the audience were singing, clapping, dancing and having just a great time.
By the time ‘Dancing In The Streets’ came on, the whole audience were dancing on their feet with show ending with ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
The show continues until Saturday at the New Theatre where its next stop on tour is Portsmouth.
Lovers of Motown, make sure you see it!
