THE Stereophonics returned home on Saturday, as they brought Keep The Summer Alive to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Exactly a week before the Welsh Football Team kick off their EURO 2016 campaign, the gig fittingly began with a montage of Welsh Sporting moments. This set the atmosphere perfectly. When C’est la Vie, lead single from the Keep the Village Alive album opened the set, the crowd began to wave their arms and jump around – and the tone was set for a classic ‘Phonics’ performance.

The band had the audience in the palm of their hand thanks to the diversity of their hit list. Making the audience sway slowly to chilled out songs like Maybe Tomorrow and Have a Nice Day and then encouraging their fans to rock out to tracks like More Life in a Tramp’s Vest, A Thousand Trees and The Bartender and the Thief.

Tune after tune burst from the stage as the night went on, with Kelly Jones seamlessly mixing the 90s, 00s and current day tracks in what was an excellent two-hour set.

The performance ended with a superb rendition the Stereophonics’ former UK number one hit Dakota, the crowd went wild one last time.
