For the past six months CentreStage Cymru have been scouring the country to try to find a 50s style motor bike for their production of 'Whistle Down The Wind'.
Messages had been sent and calls made to numerous biker associations across the UK who kindly put adds on their sites for the group.
Another problem was that the bike also needed to be drained of all fuel due to theatre safety regulations, and as we all know bikes are precious to their owners, so who would allow them to do that!
However whilst discussing the bike problem one day in rehearsals, one of the mums, Kirsty Hartland, who's daughter is in the show, said the magic words!!! 'My dad and brothers have bikes!' following a quick phone call our problem was solved and they gave us the choice of three, including a Harley!
CentreStage Cymru cannot thank Chas Slight and his son Tony Slight enough for kindly lending the bikes.
The show runs from Wednesday 30th October till Saturday 2nd November at the Dolman Theatre Newport. A half term treat not to be missed!!!!
Tickets available from 01633 881382/760454, or www.dolmantheatre.co.uk or in person from the Dolman Theatre Box Office every Saturday from 11.30am to 2pm
