Swansea City Opera return to the Borough Theatre with a traditional production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro on Thursday 1 May 7.30pm.

Taking place after the events in The Barber of Seville, the opera recounts a single day in the palace of the Count Almaviva in Spain:

The Count has designs on one of his maids, Susanna, who is going to be married to Figaro, the Count’s valet. Figaro, Susanna, and the Countess conspire to embarrass the Count and expose his infidelity. At night, all find themselves on the palace grounds, and a comic series of cases of mistaken identity ensues…

The production, which will be sung in English, is beautifully staged with elegant eighteenth century costumes. Swansea City Opera engages some of the finest singers and orchestral players in the country and this production promises to be an enchanting evening’s entertainment.

Tickets, which cost £20 (concessions £18) are available from the Box Office (01873) 850805 or online at www.boroughtheatreabergavenny.co.uk
