CHILDREN from Garnteg Primary were excited to take part in their very own wedding service.

The year one and two classes have been learning about Christian celebrations and to highlight the wedding service, children took up the important roles including bride and groom.

The enacted wedding service took place last Friday at the Pisgah Church in Talywain and Reverend Priscilla Pearson conducted the service.

The fake ceremony lasted half an hour, in which the bride and groom made promises to one another in the place of vows, including promises to play and to be friends and then the congregation sang hymns known to the children.

Everyone was then ferried back to the school to enjoy a wedding reception, including refreshments and cake.

Rev. Pearson said: "The children really enjoyed their day, and they were so excited to be taking part.

"It really brought the event to life for the children and they learnt about what marriage means."

The school would like to thank The Pisgah Church secretary John Williams and two members of the congregation for allowing them to use the church and for accommodating them on the day.
