WORKERS for Comet's home delivery network in Chepstow were told they were being made redundant today.
The 51 staff at the local centre are part of 603 people across the UK for that part of the business who lost their jobs.
Further redundancies today in head office and central functions take the figure to 735.
A spokeswoman for joint administrators Deloitte said the home delivery network will continue to operate, although with a significantly reduced workforce at each of its 12 locations to complete deliveries and continue to support the repairs operation.
There have been no redundancies to date at Comet stores.
However, the administrators confirmed on Saturday that up to 41 Comet stores may have to close between now and the end of November, unless a buyer can be found for the business.
Electrical retailer Comet went into administration earlier this month.
