Cwmbran pair arrested in baby murder probe

The one-month-old baby girl at the centre of a murder probe has been named Amelia Jones. Gwent Police confirmed the address they were called to on Saturday night was Waun Hywel Road in Pontnewydd.

Cardiff coroners court confirmed the death had been reported to them. They said an inquest is "not likely to open this week".

TWO people from the Cwmbran area have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a one-month-old baby girl.
The 43-year-old man and 24-year-old woman are in police custody.
Gwent Police say they were called to an address in the Cwmbran area at around 10.35pm on Saturday by the ambulance service.
The baby was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and then to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff but died on Monday.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
