I think Education Directors should be asking serious questions of the Heads of Croesyceiliog and Newbridge as to why these Comprehensive schools are still closed to pupils?
Even Tredegar and Brynmawr, which are probably the most affected schools are open for the older pupils.
The whole situation about school closures during this period of snow has deteriorated into a farce and does nothing to improve the views of many angry parents.

Croesyceiliog Comprehensive closed (to pupils...presumably all the staff are there then, are they?)

And yet Fairwater and Llantarnam are open.

Why is Croesy closed to pupils then?

Just curious....

Ref my query above, just checked Croesy School's website, which says:

"...School is closed today while the site team continue to make it safe for a full opening tomorrow...."

I finks that these schools governing bodies need to employ outside contractors to clear the drifts of the white stuff and so allow our nippers in and get educated like.
Perhaps get them crimbo's on the chain gang to shift it for free like.

Undeliverable! Its the head's discretion to organise clearance which should of been done yesterday by small contractors. Many schools did this and our school was clear this morning. What I seriously find disturbing is that schools like Liswerry which wouldnt have had the same amount of snow as Pontypool couldnt manage this and just proves the failure of the head of the school! Great for the members of the school getting fully paid leave while the rest have to go unpaid or take more annual leave. The roads were fine today and I'm sure that all members of staff could of got in extra early to help with gritting the paths etc sheer laziness - Croesy say no more!

Gwent does not exist. It was a failed local government experiment. Born 1974 to universal hatred. Died 1996 - SIXTEEN YEARS AGO!
