Cwmbran nursery  'adequate' - inspection

TWO Locks Nursery School in Cwmbran  was judged "adequate" at its latest inspection.

Inspectors said children make the expected level of progress and achieve at an appropriate level in numeracy but not all pupils made enough progress in reading and writing.

It said provision for full time pupils was not good enough and lesson plans did not take into account the different needs of children.  It said self evaluation and improvement plans were not focussed on raising standards and said teachers did not develop knowledge by sharing good practice with other schools.

The nursery must now draw up an action plan to address the issued raised.
