Pontnewynydd studio opens doors

A NEW music studio has been opened in Pontnewynydd.

Dragon Bands and Dragonffli Records opened a new recording studio on February 11 after secured funding and endorsements.

The idea behind the new studio came from the high demand of artists wanting to produce hip-hop and R&B music and not having anywhere to do so.

To fill this gap in the market, BeatBack Studios was born.

The studio is designed to give youngsters the opportunity to work with a qualified and experienced engineer, Nick Byrne, to produce the music that they want.

To celebrate the opening of the studio, Dragon Bands held an open day.

Joining them to celebrate were Cllr Mary Barnett, Charis Easter, fromTorfaen Voluntary Alliance, Cllr Mike Harris and Jay Ryan, from Torfaen council.

Also in attendance were many of the volunteers and service-users from Dragon Bands, who visited throughout the day.

The studio will be open to the public all week. If anyone is interested in recording and producing music in the studio, they should call the office on 01495 757936 or visit www.dragonbandswales.org.uk
