UPDATE: 307 pupils could be affected by Chepstow sickness bug
UP TO 307 pupils could be affected by a sickness bug, which has hit a Chepstow school for a second day.
Only 99 of The Dell School's 406 youngsters made it in today after an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea left 107 children off sick yesterday.
A spokesman for Monmouthshire council said it believed many of those who failed to attend today were being kept at home by their parents as a precaution.
The cause of the illness is still unknown and no other schools appear to have been affected.
The school will be deep cleaned again at the weekend and the local authority says attendance is expected to return to normal on Monday.
Any children who do fall ill with the bug are advised to stay away from school for 48 hours.
