POLICE in Abergavenny are appealing for help after a man was injured in pub.

The incident happened in Wetherspoons on Lion Street, when a 30-year-old man received a laceration to his arm requiring surgery.

The man was stood at the bar at about 9.15pm on Saturday (March 16th) when something was thrown at him, hitting him on the arm, although it is not known what was thrown.

If anyone has information about the incident, they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101

The man was not "stood" at the bar, he was standing at the bar. Stood is an intransitive verb, implying that somebody brought him in and "stood" him there. More shoddy English from the Argus.
