THE organiser of the Castell Roc Chepstow music festival has announced the line-up for the August event – and it’s a big one.

The festival is running from August 24-31 in the grounds of Chepstow Castle.

In previous years the spectacular has brought the best of the area’s talent to Chepstow under its old name Rock in the Dell and this year will be no different, as young performers will have their time in the limelight.

Festival organiser Carol Mutlow said: “We will be running a Battle of the Bands throughout July and August, to be held in Pye Corner, and the winner will open the week at GR8 Music Live on the Saturday.

“Also, each night we will be holding a ‘balloon lotto’ to raise funds for a different charity each night, as the balloon lotto we did last year was a great success.”

Tickets are already being snapped up for Max Boyce with The Treorchy Male Choir and Shan Cothi, The Jive Aces, The Rat Pack and Top Ten Rock Albums Live performed by Brit Floyd.

It fits in nicely with the ‘Put the heart back into Chepstow’ campaign, which aims to reinvigorate the community calendar in the town, following the loss of the carnival, food festival and Steampunk festival.

Details of all bands are available to view at castellroc.co.uk along with online sales.

Tickets can also be purchased at Hannah’s Music, Chepstow and the town’s tourist information centre.
