THE trial of a man accused of burning down a Valleys crisp factory was yesterday adjourned until the new year.
Colin Goulding, 30, of Bridge Street, Abertillery, is charged with two counts of arson in relation to a fire, which happened at the Real Crisps factory, where he worked, on September 20, 2012.
It is alleged he committed arson with intent to endanger the lives of Gareth Griffiths, Hazel Evans, Jeff Filer and 17 others.
It is also alleged he committed arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.
He denies both charges and was remanded in custody until the case resumes on January 6.
The fire at the factory on the Sirhowy Valley Foods estate in Croespenmaen, Blackwood, destroyed most of the building causing £6 million worth of damage.
A hundred local people lost their jobs when owners Tayto Group Ltd decide it would not re-open.
