Tinchy Stryder to headline Abergavenny festival

TINCHY Stryder will headline the second Breakin’ Out Festival in Abergavenny next week.The event, held in Bailey Park, is Monmouthshire’s biggest urban music festival and the brainchild of local youth mentor Sharon Lewis.
The hip hop star has released three solo albums, including ‘Catch 22’ and has had success with ‘Take Me Back’, and ‘Number 1’. Mr Stryder will join a line-up that includes X Factor finalist Amelia Lilly, the Loveable Rogues, Twist & Pulse and Newport rappers Goldie Lookin’ Chain.
The first event was held at Abergavenny Leisure Centre and saw Chip (aka Chipmunk), Skepta and The Voice star Hannah Berney perform in front of hundreds of young music fans at the alcohol-free event.
The event is not just about music, among the many activities and workshops will be a sports zone, stalls, funfair, circus skills taught by NoFitState Circus, bungee run and and DJ’s in the creative village.
Goalkeeping legend Neville Southall, MBE, and Mr Stryder will lead an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.
The duo will be key players in helping secure a world record by scoring 1,860 penalty kicks consecutively into the same goal.
The record-breaking challenge is being run in partnership with PG10 Coaching and will see acts, staff and attendees take part in the attempt.
The festival is supported by the Arts Council for Wales and Monmouthshire council and run by a team of volunteers aged between 16 and 21.
The festival takes place between 10am and 11pm on September 7.
