A NEWPORT schoolgirl has won a chance to represent South Wales in the International Beauty Pageant, taking place in Disneyland, Paris this October.
Rebecca Skinner, 11, who had raised funds in aid of Rainbow Child Foundation, secured her place to compete in the international finals by finishing as runner up against a tough selection of girls in the Welsh heat.
Rebecca also received the award of titles, Miss Publicity and Miss Congeniality.
The pageant organsiers say that it focuses on natural beauty and talent, and looks for children with personalities who are willing to raise funds for the charity that help underprivileged children around the world.
Rebecca hopes to demonstrate these qualities in her character during the judge’s interviews in Paris.
She said: “I’m really excited about the next competition.”
She will be competing for the title of Junior Face of the Globe, founded by X-factor quarterfinalist, Chico Slimani at the finals in October.
She will go head to head and compete against girls aged five years and up, from all around the world at the final in the famous park.
Of the Disneyland contestants, the winners who raised the most money in each age group, ten per cent of the winnings will go to their chosen charity.
Rebecca’s charity is Bonnie Babies, which is something close to her heart since she discovered they helped babies born prematurely, like her little brother.
At the moment is also supporting several different charities, including Rainbow Child Foundation.
