A TORFAEN man who admitted being drunk and disorderly in Newport has been given a conditional discharge.
Keiron Rees, 27, of Viaduct Court, Lower Cwm, Pontypool, admitted the offence which took place on Church Road, Newport, on August 23.
Cwmbran Magistrates Court heard yesterday from prosecutor Robert Simkins, who said that at 9.30pm on the day in question, officers were called after reports of a disturbance on Church Road.
The defendant had been causing problems inside a house and was asked to leave before officers took him out onto the street.
He swore and was eventually arrested and taken to the police station, said Mr Simkins.
Alan Jones, mitigating, said Rees "doesn't remember a lot" about the incident and has significant mental health difficulties.
He said Rees had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and apologies for the language he used.
Magistrates gave Rees a six-month conditional discharge. He must pay a £15 victim surcharge.
