A GWENT business has raised nearly £1,500 for children’s hospice Ty Hafan – and some of its staff played a starring role in the hospice’s Christmas pantomime.

Cwmbran and Abercarn-based Fast Parts Wales Ltd raised the money on behalf of its customer base of independent garages in Gwent.

As part of its continued support for Ty Hafan, Fast Parts general manager Nathan Travis, area sales representative Carl Wilkins and Cwmbran parts advisor Gregg Dyson all agreed to take part in Ty Hafan’s Christmas pantomime.

Fellow Fast Parts staff gathered donations in support of the trio, including Crispin Thomas, an Abercarn parts advisor who in just two days raised more than £1,200, which was put towards gifts for the children in the hospice.

Fast Parts belting supplier Gates donated £220 and Dean of DB Cars in Pontypool gave £50.

Alison Stallard, from Ty Hafan, said: “The efforts of the Fast Parts team in raising much needed funds for the charity has been overwhelming, matched only by the generosity of time they have given in playing leading roles in our Christmas panto.

“They were an absolute hit and will be invited back next year by popular demand!”
