THE Police & Crime Commissioner for Gwent met a dozen people at a public surgery in Chepstow.

The event took place at the Palmer Community Centre and saw Ian Johnston take part in a question and answer session and a group discussion on Monday.

He also visited youngsters at the Central Kaff Youth Centre in the town. Among the issues raised by residents and representatives of Chepstow Town Council were anti-social behaviour, parking problems on Welsh Street and a campaign to reduce the speed limit from 50mph to 30mph on the A48 bridge between Chepstow and Gloucestershire.

Mr Johnston said: “We had a good turnout and some really useful feedback. I want to be visible to the people so I can listen to what matters to them. I’m accountable to the public for the delivery of policing here in Gwent and on their behalf, not only do I hold the Chief Constable to account, I also have a Police and Crime Plan which lets people know what I expect policing to deliver for the region.”
