MONMOUTH MP David Davies is urging Monmouthshire schools to enter a competition called the Speaker’s Council Awards.
Run by the Speaker of the House of Commons it was launched to recognise schools who have had the most impact on their local communities.
Mr Davies said:“The Speaker is running a scheme to reward schools who have benefited their local communities.”
“I know from my many visits to schools in Monmouthshire, how involved teachers and pupils are in their community, through taking part in local initiatives and charitable projects. I will be writing to all schools in the area urging parents and teachers to enter their school in the contest, so that schools in Monmouthshire have the chance to be nationally recognised for the great work they do.”
The competition closes on April 30, 2014. For more details go to parliament.uk
