GWENT artist Patrick Killian is to paint boxing legend Frank Bruno live next month at a special event in Cwmbran.

This comes after Mr Killian painted in front of hundreds at ‘Reloaded’ at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff recently when he captured the atmosphere as he painted close to the action.

He painted lightweight Lee Selby who “looked a class act captured below throwing his right hook”, as well as Gavin Rees taking on Gary Buckland in the ring.

The two men “showed real sportsmanship when they came out for the 12 and gave each other a hug”, Mr Killian said, saying he had “total respect for the guys”.

He added that both Mr Rees and Mr Buckland were looking at buying the originals he painted of them.

The new year has proved busy for Mr Killian, who has also just become an ambassador to the Amelia Mae Davies Foundation and also exhibited his work at the Amelia-Mae Davies Neuroblastoma Foundation ball in Liverpool on January 25.

Mr Killian presented a painting to Angie and Stewart Davies in memory of their daughter, Amelia, who died.

His next big billing willwith be at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran on March 28, when he will paint Frank Bruno and exhibit some of his work.
