ARTISTIC pupils at Monmouth Comprehensive have had their work exhibited on an online Saatchi Gallery.

Twenty three pupils from the school aged between 13 and 18-years-old had been entered into the international art competition, the Saatchi Gallery Schools Art Prize in partnership with the Deutsche Bank.

Janet Chaplin, art teacher, said: "We have previously entered into the Royal Academy of Arts competition and have been shortlisted ever year we've entered. We entered a lot of key stage 3 an 4 into this competition.

"The pupils are all very talented. It's great exposure for them."

Twenty seven pieces were submitted to the competition which includes portraits of David Bowie and Benedict Cumberbatch. The school didn't make the shortlist of twenty pieces of artwork which included schools from Dubai and Hong Kong.
