THE shoe of pop star Justin Bieber has had 1,400 views on eBay since it went up for auction last week.

Mum Khloe Waite put the shoe up for auction in a bid to raise a minimum of £500 to help Oakdale youngster Ayla-Mae Hemms – who suffers from cerebral palsy – have life-changing surgery.

After looking for ways to help the daughter of a family friend – Ayla-Mae Hemms, 18 months, who suffers from severe cerebral palsy – Mrs Waite, 28, from New Inn, was struck with inspiration when her children returned home from a Justin Bieber concert with his shoe.

The family of Ayla-Mae Hemms, who is profoundly deaf and suffers spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy need to raise £100,000 to undergo selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery to help her become more independent and have the chance to walk unaided.

Since the shoe went up for auction, 10 bidders have bid a maximum of £200 ahead of the final bid on Friday, with all money from the final bid going towards the Ayla-Mae Three Steps Forward Charity.

But with 65 watchers from all over the world, Mrs Waite is hopeful that a last minute bidding –war will raise above and beyond the target of £500.

“Ayla’s parents are really excited about the auction and will be coming over on Friday so that we can all be together for when the bidding finishes,” Mrs Waite said.

“I have had one guy from America contact me asking for more photos of the shoe and to ask me what kind of odour it has so I had to smell the shoe to tell him!”

Mrs Waite’s two children Ralphie, nine, and Beau, seven, won the shoe in a raffle while they waited in line to meet the star during the VIP meet and greet part of his concert at Birmingham NIA on March 27 last year.

The Croesyceiliog Primary School pupils attended the concert of the Canadian pop star with their grandmother and were delighted when they were given the opportunity to meet with the star backstage.

Along with the shoe The family also came home with a signed record and much more merchandise, from the singer, a gift bag, ‘Beliebers’ scarf, concert lanyard and the tickets to the event, all of which are included in the auction. Mrs Waite has launched a video featuring images of Alya with her parents to tug on the heart strings of those who are not aware of her condition so they may consider bidding. To donate visit http://www.gofundme.com/5fm48g
