SCHOOL pupils brought out their artistic skills ahead of the FAW under 16 girls cup final tomorrow, which will feature Llanyrafon Ladies.

The Llanyrafon Ladies under 16 football team will make history tomorrow when they participate in the national final for the first time.

They play against Caernarfon Ladies in Newtown.

As part of the build up to the big day, pupils at both Croesyceiliog Primary School and Croesyceiliog School worked with the FAW’s community charity partner Pippins Design, to paint pictures of the two teams.

The finished pieces will now go on display at the final.

The art class for the primary school pupils took place on Tuesday, while the high school class was held on Wednesday.

Llanyrafon team players, Amy Sims and Bethan Percival, who are also in Year 11 at Croesyceiliog School, were at both of the painting sessions to help the pupils.

Llanyrafon Ladies under 16s secured a 1-0 win over Cardiff City Ladies in February to gain their place in the final.

Kick-off for the final is at 2pm on Sunday at Latham Park, Newtown.

Prize money for the cup winners is £4,000.

The runners-up will receive £2,000.
