TORFAEN pupils are competing in the Jaguar Primary School 2D challenge after launching their new car.
Pontnewynydd School year six pupils launched their new car, Lightning Bolt, last Monday, with a presentation of their work and their model racing car. Students were challenged to design a car before manufacturing the vehicle out of card, complete with wheels, body and even a mini driver. The team are taking part in the South Wales finals today at Celtic Manor.
Local company, Spraycraft, sprayed the car for free and a number of companies have sponsored the group, including Pontypool Community Council, Bron Afon and Cards and Cakes.
