THE organisers of a Chepstow music festival are looking for businesses to show their support and sponsor a banner next to the main stage.

The Argus’ sister paper, the Free Press, is backing the Castell Roc festival, which takes place in the grounds of Chepstow Castle over two weekends in August.

This year’s acts include The South (Still Beautiful), Great Music Live, Abba Mania and The Ultimate Rat Pack.

Queen tribute act the Bohemians’, The Wurzels will also perform and there will be an evening with Rhydian Roberts and orchestra to add to the entertainment.

Now, the organisers behind the successful event are appealing to businesses to pledge £120 to display a banner.

This will be supplied in a prime spot throughout the event.

They will also be listed on the Castell Roc website and receive two complimentary tickets to the show of their choice.

Carol Mutlow, of Hannah’s Music, said: “The 2013 event brought five brilliant shows to the town and with it, lots of visitors attending each one.”

“Castell Roc is very much a stand alone event and by that I mean we do not get any financial help or funding from anywhere at all.

“We rely purely on ticket sales (along with a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Chepstow individuals that assist with the production).

“So any help we can get is very supportive,” added Mrs Mutlow.

She is also asking business owners to think of a way of encouraging people to come into Chepstow during the day before the festival starts.

“Think of something, anything, however big or small.

“Maybe you would like to put a busker outside your shop, or face painting inside.

“Perhaps café’s could offer a free cake with two cups of coffee?

“These are just suggestions but the idea is to entice visitors to come and visit your business,” said Mrs Mutlow.

All events will be listed in a What’s On leaflet that will be sent out with festival tickets in May.

The festival runs from August 21 to 24 and 28 to 30.
