A BULWARK woman will be combining raising money for charity with cleaning up her neighbourhood next Friday (April 25).
Niki Morgan, from Thornwell Road, is hoping to raise £1,000 for the Ginette Harrison School in Nepal.
She will be focusing her efforts on the area around the Chepstow Leisure Centre on the first stretch of the Wye Valley walk.
Ms Morgan said:”The walk is so pretty but litter is strewn and it’s quite unsightly there.”
The school is named after the British climber who died climbing the Dhaulagiri mountain in Nepal in 1999.
She works for a company, Mountain Kingdoms, which runs treks worldwide and specialises in the Himalaya. It established the school after Mrs Harrison’s death and has supported it since.
And Ms Morgan said: “Having trekked in Nepal several times, I am keen to put something back. Nepalese children are so incredibly keen to learn, which is inspiring, but have so few resources.”
She will also be running the inaugural Severn Bridge Half Marathon, which her partner Andy Creber is organising, to raise funds for the school.
