Easter fun at Raglan Castle

AN EASTER eggs-travaganza will be coming to Raglan Castle this weekend to delight children and parents alike.

Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, has announced that the historic sites will play host to a range of fun activities this Easter bank holiday weekend.

Running from April 20 to 21 at Raglan Castle families can take part in a jam-packed programme of activities from 11am – 4pm.

From Easter egg hunts to archery trials and even a full scale battle re-enactment, there is plenty for families to get involved at Cadw sites across Wales, offering entertainment for the whole family.

One of the highlights of the bank holiday weekend will be the Easter pageant at Raglan Castle, featuring a full scale spectacular battle re-enactment, dozens of stalls and hands on activities.

Visitors can meet the castle’s historical characters, experience a spectacular battle re-enactment, and even have a go at archery

On Easter Sunday (April 20) families can hop along to a number of Cadw’s impressive monuments to take part in Easter egg hunts, with prizes up for grabs for younger visitors.

John Griffiths, Minister for Culture and Sport, said: “More than two and a half million people visit Cadw’s 128 sites every year, and with events planned across Wales, Easter is the perfect time for local communities and visitors alike to explore these fascinating monuments to see and experience history coming to life.”
