CLASS ACT: Ian Gough piles into Australia in Wales' Millennium Stadium win in 2008
FORMER Wales international rugby star Ian Gough has denied assaulting the Gwent fiancée of pop star Dane Bowers.
Gough, 37, is accused of assaulting Sophia Cahill, originally from Pontypool, at a Greater London address on January 5.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court yesterday, but pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault on Ms Cahill at Kingswood Way, South Croydon, earlier this year.
He is due to appear before magistrates for trial on July 29.
Gough made 64 appearances for Wales.
He is due to rejoin his hometown club Newport Gwent Dragons for the 2014/15 season, from London Irish.
