A CWMBRAN footpath was closed off for much of today after a Blaenavon man was arrested on suspicion of rape.
A spokeswoman from Gwent Police said: "On Sunday May 18, we sealed off the footpath between Conway Terrace and Bronllys Place leading to Snowden Court, following an allegation of sexual assault on a teenage girl.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area. A 21-year-old man from Blaenavon was arrested on suspicion of rape, but has been bailed pending further enquiries."
The road has now been reopened.
