IS YOUR youngster creative? If they are pre-school, at primary or secondary school they could win the chance to follow in the footsteps of some of the world’s greatest artists – thanks to an exciting competition we are running in conjunction with Chepstow and Abergavenny Museums.

Get them to paint, sketch, sculpt, sew, knit or write about a place that inspires them and it could be on display in the museum gallery.

There’s also a host of other amazing prizes to be won too.

The community exhibition follows the Sites of Inspiration exhibition running at Chepstow Museum until October 12 featuring world famous art inspired by Tintern Abbey, the Wye Valley as well as Llanthony priory and the Llanthony Valley.

So as curators at the two museums take down paintings by JMW Turner, John Piper, and Thomas Gainsborough your child’s paintings could take their place.

Any entries, which must include child’s name, age, address and contact details should be sent to: Ruth Mansfield, Newsdesk, Free Press Series, Cardiff Road, Maesglas, Newport, NP20 3QN October 12.

Normal Free Press rules apply.
