THE Llanyravon Slimming World Group has announced this year’s Miss Slinky and Mr Sleek.

Taking the titles this year were Lisa Smallman and Jordan Phillips.

Mrs Smallman, 37, said that people don’t recognise her as she has dropped from a clothes size 20 to an eight.

Weighing 16st 5lb, she managed to lose two stone herself, but joined the group when her weight loss slowed.

She now weighs 10st 4lbs since joining in February.

She said: “I would always skip meals and snack, but now I eat three meals and make healthier choices and enjoy taking my dog out for a walk for exercise.

“I always said that I was just one of those people who couldn’t lose weight after trying many diets but I’m really happy now.”

Mr Phillips, 20, said he was unhappy with his 22st 12lb body and this inspired him to join the group.

After 14 months, he is now 17st 11lb, and the art and design student said he has found a new confidence which is helping him progress on his course.

He said: “I would always comfort eat and never thought that I would lose the weight.”

For breakfast he used to eat four slices of toast with peanut butter, sausage and chips for lunch, and fish cakes and beans for dinner. He would also snack on crisp, chocolate and sweets during the day.

Now he has a yogurt for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch, chilli con carne for dinner and snacks on fruit.

He said: “It was much easier as it is just about making healthier choices and you can still enjoy the meals that you like.”

Group leader, Helen Jones, added: “We are so proud of both of them.”
