MOVING ON

BBC 1, 2.15pm This week of commendable daytime dramas on the eponymous theme continues with Sarah Dean's Drowning Not Waving starring Christine Tremarco (Ellie) and Richard Armitage (John).

Ellie has got herself into serious debt and her only hope of avoiding bankruptcy is to sell the home she loves. But no-one is buying; except John Mulligan, an old flame from school who used to be a nerd. He seems to have changed, but has he? GRAND DESIGNS

C4, 9pm The Benjamins live in an Edwardian manor house but want to downsize and build a smaller retirement home in a walled garden within the grounds. Typically in Kevin McCloud's unfailingly fabulous series, this is not your average new-build.

On one side, it looks like a traditional potting shed, on the other a floating glass pavilion. Which makes it a challenge. The Benjamins dispense with their architect, threatening to jeopardise the project. McCloud's refusal to become ruffled is compelling.
