Scorers: St Johnstone - Wilson (61); Clyde - Bradley (30), Albertz (51) at McDiarmid Park The face may be more weathered than it once was but last night Jorg Albertz proved that his left boot remains as pretty as ever with a sweet free-kick against St Johnstone.
The former Ibrox favourite, back in Scotland seven years after leaving Glasgow, scored Clyde's second in what may prove a crucial result in their battle to avoid relegation.
St Johnstone were strangely subdued early on but created a chance just after the quarter-hour. However, Steven Milne was unable to finish the move inside the area.
The impasse didn't last much longer, though, as Clyde took a deserved lead. Some shambolic defending by the Perth side gave Kevin Bradley a sight of goal and he dispatched a shot into the bottom corner.
Within a minute St Johnstone had the chance to draw level when Neil McGregor shoved David Weatherston inside the area, but Paul Sheerin, who missed his last effort against St Mirren a week ago, blazed over from the penalty spot.
Six minutes into the second half Albertz hit the target after having two attempts blocked in the first period, smashing home a low drive from 20 yards.
The hosts were given another penalty only a minute later when Milne was fouled by goalkeeper David Hutton, but Liam Craig, like Sheerin before him, missed as the keeper made amends with a fine save.
The Perth men finally got the ball into the net on the hour when Wilson rose to nod home Craig's corner and should have drawn level on 79 minutes, but Milne scuffed his shot.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
