A COMMUNITY youth football programme that has improved the behaviour and school attendance of young people aged 11 to 16 is set to expand at the home of Irn-Bru First Division table-toppers Hamilton Accies.
The expansion has been made possible thanks to a £123,569 award from the Big Lottery Fund, which will give hundreds of local young people the skills and qualifications to develop their sporting talents and set them on a pathway to employment. Former Scotland boss Berti Vogts has stepped down as coach of Nigeria after just over a year - despite holding a contract until after the 2010 World Cup. Everton should complete their passage into the Uefa Cup last 16 tonight when they face Brann Bergen at Goodison Park in the second-leg of their last-32 tie.
Everton hold a 2-0 advantage from the first meeting in Norway last week and could set up a meeting with Italian outfit Fiorentina. David Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy were beaten 1-0 by Gamba Osaka in Hawaii as they continue their preparations for the new Major League Soccer season.
