SCOTLAND will play host to some of the world's most impressive warships and aircraft next week.
Exercise Neptune Warrior involves aircraft carriers HMS Ark Royal and Illustrious and amphibious assault ship HMS Albion.
The waters off the west coast will host the operation to fine-tune the training of peacekeeping soldiers, sailors and fliers.
The mission involves the UK, US, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Norway and Denmark.
Nineteen ships, 10 helicopters and 60 aircraft will join the exercise from Monday to May 4.
