As the hunt continues for the mystery winner of a £1.8m lottery ticket, Barnet FC fans have spoken about what they would spend the money on.

The ticket matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto Quadruple Rollover draw on January 28, and was bought somewhere in Barnet.

The National Lottery teamed up with Barnet FC to find the ticket holder, and visited The Hive on Saturday to continue the search, where the Bees beat FC Halifax Town 3-0.

Lauren Quinlan, who works at The Hive, said she would spend the winnings on travelling.

The 19-year-old said: "Firstly, I’d travel to all the places I’ve always wanted to go – Australia, Caribbean, America, Europe – then I’d buy a London penthouse, and a country bolthole too in Dorset.

“A new car would be important, maybe a Jaguar, although I think I’d like a chauffeur to drive it. And of course I’d look after my family too. I bet the missing ticket has been accidentally washed, that’s why I always take a picture of my ticket before I put it safely in my purse.”

Graham Dennis, from Potters Bar, has been a Barnet FC fan for more than 40 years.

The 55-year-old said: "I’ve been an AA man for 33 years but if I won £1.8million, I think I’d have to retire. After all those years of looking after other peoples nice cars, I’d treat myself to a Jaguar, and some new golf clubs to go in the boot, oh, and a Barnet FC season ticket.

“The family would all be looked after and while we’d stay in Potters Bar, I’d buy a family holiday home in Spain. I think the missing ticket has been accidentally packed away with all the Christmas decorations."

Barnet FC season ticketholder Selby Duffield, 35, from Bushey Heath, said: “I’d invest in Barnet FC - £1.8million would go a long way to helping my club keep heading up. We could have some new players and develop current players, I’m sure Tony would have a few ideas. For myself, just a new car, a Smart car. The missing ticket could be anywhere but how about down the back of the sofa, I’m definitely going to check that when I get home…just to be sure!”

The total prize is worth £1,804,955, and needs to be claimed by July 27.
