A MOTHER of two is seeking to raise thousands of pounds for Unicef after stumbling across “horrifying” videos of alleged child abuse on Facebook.

Life coach Natasha Davies, 42, called police after she saw disturbing footage showing a baby flung around by the arms and legs by a woman.

About two weeks later, she came across another “video nasty” showing a man repeatedly punching a young boy.

She contacted Crimestoppers and said police viewed one of the videos at her home in Abersychan.

But officers told her the clips could not be traced because they were shared online too many times.

She decided to take action by launching a £5,000 fundraising drive for the children’s charity Unicef, which seeks to combat violence against children.

Ms Davies, of Prospect Place, said: “There’s nothing I can do to help the poor children shown in those videos.

“So instead I decided to raise money for Unicef.

“They work to end violence towards children and they do that across the world.

“A lot of people get stuck with ‘what’s wrong with the world?’ and do not do anything about it.”

She said a number of Facebook users criticised the content of the videos that she came across in late May.

She has raised nearly £1,000 for the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Her target is to collect £5,000 by the end of the year.

Ms Davies runs her own life coach company called Because U Can based in Stow Park Circle, Newport.

She added: “I have been doing car boot sales, selling items donated to me on the internet, donating some of my earnings and speaking to local business people.

“Everyone has been as horrified as me to hear the story and the response I am getting is so encouraging.

“As a small business owner and a parent this is a challenge.

“But after having seen these video nasties it is one I am determined to achieve.”
