A PONTYPOOL teen behind a series of humorous YouTube videos has revealed he has had discussions over a deal with a global media company.

Jordan Parker, 18, has spent the last two and half years making clips in his bedroom for his YouTube channel ShenanigansTVLive.

The channel features comedy skits including a 'rant' about results day, a sketch called 'Sayings Taken Literally' and a horror spoof coined 'Normal Activity'.

The St Alban’s sixth former said his first video, about the launch of the PS4 console in 2013, had racked up nearly 5,000 views.

Now, he says, BroadbandTV has offered him a sixth-month contract.

The media company is expected to work to boost advertising on his channel and raise its profile in the process.

The teen, of Davis Close, said: “Being able to make a living out of doing something you truly enjoy and are passionate about is always something to aspire towards.

“The company will try to work with advertisers. This could open up more revenue.

“The content is 100 per cent mine. I wanted to make sure I didn’t give away any intellectual property.

“The agreement is a sixth-month contract that will be automatically renewed unless for some reason I wish to leave.

“If my channel grows substantially, which I hope it does, I will then be eligible to apply for merchandising and further advertising amenities to further grow.”

Mr Parker received an A* in his geography A-level this year and will study for two more A-levels in physics and biology at St Alban’s in Pontypool.

He said he was expected to receive A grades, adding he had obtained five A* and five As in his GCSEs at West Mon School.
