A 10-YEAR-OLD boy has raised £2,000 in memory of his grandfather.

Tom Forde, lost his grandfather Brian Forde, 79, who lived in Llangybi, to leukaemia last year and is now taking part in a 5k colour run in October in aid of Bloodwise, which is the new name of charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.

He has already raised £2,080 on his justgiving page after setting an initial fundraising target of £300.

Tom said: "I started my just giving page in June and was expecting just a few donations from friends and family but it has already reach more than £2,000 and would like to raise even more to make my granddad even more proud of me as he to meant the world to me too."

"We loved talking about the war and his memories and going to see Wales play rugby in Cardiff. I loved him dearly."

He added: "I miss him everyday and want to do something to remember him by and for him to be proud of me.

"I also want to raise some money for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity so that other Granddad's and Grandma's can live longer and their grandchildren can continue to play with them."

Tom is taking part in the Colour Run in Brighton on October 10 in memory of his grandfather who died in November.
