FIREFIGHTERS tackled a deliberate fire at Tredegar Park last night.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call at around 7.20pm and the rubbish fire was put out at about 7.35pm.
Later that evening, Maindee firefighters were drafted in after a car was torched in Lilleshall Street near Corporation Road.
A fire service spokeswoman said the crew put out the car fire after receiving an emergency call at around 10.50pm.
