A GWENT MP has thrown his support behind a national campaign supporting people affected by cancer.
Labour MP for Torfaen Nick Thomas-Symonds attended an event in Parliament on Wednesday, February 3 to show his support for Thursday’s World Cancer Day.
As part of the annual event run by Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Care, the Movember Foundation and Anthony Nolan supporters were asked to buy and wear a Unity Band to show solidarty with those affected by the disease.
Mr Thomas-Symonds said: “I’m calling on people in Torfaen to join me by wearing a Unity Band, making a donation or spreading the word on social media.
“Whether you want to celebrate people who have overcome cancer, show solidarity to those going through treatment or remember loved ones – World Cancer Day is a chance to get involved and help reduce the impact of cancer on future generations.”
All funds raised from sale of Unity Bands will go to the four charities.
