RUGBY players ranging from 17 to 51-years-old collected over £850 for Cancer Research at a charity game in Painswick on Saturday.
Event planner James Wynn lost his Grandmother to lung cancer last year and was keen to raise funds for the organisation because of the sheer number of people affected by the disease.
Painswick All Stars won against Quedgeley Harlequins 68-46 in a match that saw 'fantastic spirit' with at least 150 supporters turning out to cheer on their favourite team.
Craig Mayo, who helped organise and promote the game, said: "One of the highlights of the day was having so many players present and past involved, we even had some players who had never stepped onto a rugby pitch before.
"Although things weren't great on the pitch during the season, events like this remind you what a great family club Painswick is, and that charitable giving is instilled in its values.
"Thanks to Quedgeley for playing their part in the day and helping raise the money."
Spectators who turned out for the match were also able to enjoy a BBQ, music and a bouncy castle during the day.
Organisers issued a thanks to sponsors of the day: AC Electrical, Harper Wynn Electrical and Paul Craddock of Silver Tree Services.
