I WONDER if Jim Dyer and Dave Humphries will respond to “Disgusting dog mess stopping our kids playing”(Argus 19.1.17), as reported by parent Mr Ky-lee Hill, of Durham Road, St Julians, Newport.
In the Argus letters pages a few months ago, Messrs Dyer and Humphries mocked any complaints or mention of dog mess in Newport’s streets and public areas.
Newport City Labour Councillor Bob Poole tells us that “our Community Safety Wardens are patrolling our streets daily” does this include early mornings and late evenings?
Newport City Council needs to follow the example of Cardiff City Council’s “deep clean policy” by making the best use of resources available and totally clean-up our residential streets and pavements of dogs’ mess, litter, gullies etc. on a regular weekly rotation.
Cardiff City Council calls it “Love where you live”.
