A MAN was taken to hospital after sustaining minor injuries in a Caldicot car crash.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm in Firs Road on Friday, March 24 and the driver of the car crashed into one of the bungalows along the road, after losing control of the vehicle.

A spokesman from the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at approximately 2.30pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car on Firs Road, Caldicot.

“We sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a crew in an emergency ambulance and an elderly man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport with a non-life-threatening injury.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman added: “We received a call at approximately 2.27pm this afternoon to reports that a driver had lost control of their vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Jetta.

“The vehicle had crashed into a bungalow on Firs Road, Caldicot.

“The driver received minor injuries – no-one else was harmed.”
