POLICE have appealed for information following an incident in Cwmbran in which a man was assaulted after refusing to hand over his phone and wallet.

The man was walking on a footpath running from Hafren Road through Tern Court in the Thornhill area of the town at about 10pm on Wednesday, March 22, when he was approached by three young men, who demanded he give them his phone and wallet.

When he refused the three, who were all wearing dark hooded tops, assaulted him.

He suffered minor injuries and none of his belongings were stolen.
