TICKETS are selling fast for Feeder’s special anniversary concert.

The band, which has amassed five million record sales, will appear at Chepstow Racecourse on August 25 to celebrate 21 years of releasing albums.

The band decided to return to lead singer Grant Nicholas’ hometown of Chepstow for a performance that Feeder fans will not want to miss.

Mr Nicholas said: “The Chepstow idea has been floating around for quite a few years, but I didn’t feel it was the right time. Then the anniversary came up and I couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate.

“It’s great to be finally be playing Chepstow for the first time after all these years. This year will be the 21st anniversary since the release of Swim, so it seems only right to be doing a show near the town where we grew up and where we started to get into music and growing up in South Wales.”

Phil Bell, managing director of Chepstow Racecourse, said he is looking forward to the event: “I have been a fan of Feeder for many years. I was looking to book them for an event at the racecourse without realising that Chepstow was Grant’s hometown.”

Mr Nicholas was born in Newport and grew up in the Chepstow area. The band consists of Mr Nicholas and Taka Hirose and their top 20 hits include Feeling A Moment, Just The Way I’m Feeling, Just A Day and Buck Rogers.

At the show they will also perform songs from their ninth studio album All Bright Electric which was released in 2016 and achieved a top 10 chart position.

Mr Nicholas added: “I have to admit I am feeling a little bit of pressure to put on a good show, but I always get nervous before performing. I think that’s a good thing because if the nerves stop you are sort of going through the motions too much. I want each show to be different and exciting.

“What I want to do is make it as fun for the audience as possible and we want to enjoy it and really rock out.”

Tickets for The Homecoming are now on sale for £25 from Chepstow Racecourse’s website.
