COTSWOLD Airport played host to Vauxhall’s UK press launch of its new Insignia earlier this month.

On June 20 and 21, around 40 national and motoring journalists arrived at the airfield and stepped on board the special Boeing 747 events plane parked on the runway for a presentation on the new car.

Then, with temperatures peaking at 30C, the press set out around the Cotswolds on planned routes to experience the new model and all it has to offer.

The build day on June 19 saw one of Vauxhall’s new Insignias being lifted inside the plane through the old cargo hatch, now a giant window.

Cotswold Airport’s fire crew and estates team worked with engineers from on-site tenant company Air Salvage International to install the vehicle.

Set-builders and a specialist AV team directed by Vauxhall’s PR company created a unique experience for the press, with rows of seats with iPads in the headrests to emulate a true aviation experience.
