SUN and sand have come to the Cwmbran Centre for the summer holidays.

Until September 3, there will be a host of activities on offer including an urban beach. Gwent Square has become a temporary beach with plenty of space for children to play and benches for adults to relax.

A spokesman for “The Beach has been fantastically received by the public and we are proud to offer the community a safe and free space for summer activity for their families. The Beach has provided a fantastic hub for the community to interact with both our retailers as well as community groups in order to create a fun and interactive summer destination. We have plenty more beach activities booked in for the coming weeks and look forward to welcoming our customers to the Centre’.

he urban beach is being billed as one of the largest event in Cwmbran Shopping’s history and forms part of the centre’s Summer Fun campaign.

Tomorrow you can enjoy beach bingo with Mecca Bingo, then on Friday there will be beach games.

Uncle Tacko’s flea circus will be at the centre on August 21 with his trained troupe of fleas who will be hosting shows throughout the day. Face painting will also be available as well as a hanging port hole aquarium workshop.

On August 28 Captain Hook will be hosting his pirate show along with a treasure hunt and special pirate loot grand prize.

Mechanical boats and go karts will also be on offer, as well as the candy shack selling a whole host of sweet treats.
